Tomorrow Night: Furtherfield.org on Resonance FM

On tomorrow night’s  Furtherfield.org on Resonance FM:

“Stewart Home art & cultural activist across a variety of media including performance, music, film, writing, installation, graphics etc. Within these practices continually reforging a passage between theory and practice, politics and art, the private and the social.

Richard Wright visual artist who has been working in animated media for twenty years, including many early pioneering digital animated films and interactive installations. A PhD in the aesthetics of digital cinema, has published nearly forty papers, articles and book chapters. The programme also includes various other treasures: noise-collages, soundscapes and exploratory music.”

Tonight: Furtherfield.org on ResonanceFM

On tonight’s show of Furtherfield.org on Resonance FM:

“Jon Thomson & Alison Craighead, artists working with video, sound and electronic networked space to create gallery and site-specific artworks and installations, and art specifically made for the Internet. Corrado Morgana is a Media artist, electronic musician and researcher. Currently a part time doctoral student at University of the Arts London. His research project examines arts and videogames crossover practice, specifically transgressive and subversive production within existing game engines. The programme also includes various other treasures: noise-collages, soundscapes and exploratory music.”

Furtherfield.org on Resonance FM 4th May

Furtherfield.org on Resonance FM is back tomorrow night (Tuesday 4th May), in our usual slot 9.30-10.30)

This week’s show features interviews with Jim Prevett, Emergent technology Producer at SPACE Media, Hackney, London, runs the PERMACULTURES programme of residencies, workshops, talks and events. Kasia Molga, interdisciplinary artist based in London whose work combines traditional media and new media. Kasia is PhD candidate at University of East London and Senior Lecturer in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. The programme also includes various other treasures: noise-collages, soundscapes and exploratory music.

Tonight: Furtherfield.org on ResonanceFM

Tonight’s the night: Furtherfield.org on Resonance 104.4FM (9.30-10.30pm), the first in a new series for the radio show that focuses on the thorny tangle of arts and technology.

This evening’s edition, hosted by Marc Garrett with Charlotte Frost, includes interviews with Danja Vasiliev (current Artist in Residence at Furtherfield.org’s HTTP Gallery, London, UK) as well as James Wallbank and Steve Withington (from Access Space, the UK’s first ‘Free Media Lab’). The show also features a music collaboration from 1975, with Laurie Anderson & Alan Sondheim- violin & mandolin and other treasures, noise-collages, soundscapes and exploratory music including a selection from Furthernoise.org.

Looking for radio broadcasts dedicated to digital arts (media arts, computer arts, art and technology etc.)? Furtherfield.org on Resonance FM has the solution!

Yes, that’s right, tonight Marc Garrett and I host a pilot for our up-coming foray into radio with Resonance FM. Here’s the blurb:

“Furtherfield.org’s first programme on Resonance FM is a live, jam-packed, hour-long review of contemporary media arts culture. This week, Marc Garrett and Charlotte Frost will interview Douglas Dodds, Senior Curator at the V&A and Mztek founders, Sophie Macdonald & Sally Northmore. Noise-collages, soundscapes and exploratory music, will also be featured.”

The regular show which will follow the pilot in a few months time is described thus:

“This regular live show highlights current activity and controversies around contemporary practices in art and technology, discussing events, exhibitions, debates and their social contexts with all manner of player and participant. Features include lively debate and interviews with artists, techies, writers and curators, interspersed with bleeding-edge music and a rolling programme of experimental creative adventures for your amusement.”
