PhD2Published Goes Live
After lots of rushing around, my new project, PhD2Published, is live!
The aims behind PhD2Published are to provide a wealth of hints and tips for newbie academics on how they might get their all important first book in print in today’s market, as well providing discussion on the future of academic publishing in the e-age.
The site features:
Articles offering publishing, self-promotion and writing advice etc (e.g. how to pitch to a publisher, start your own website, or get a writing schedule nailed).
Top tips from established academics and other writers on how to get your book published.
Discussion on developments in publishing and broadcasting technologies and the rise of the ebook through the annals of academia.
Video blog entries by me on my own efforts to get my first book published.
Guest posts from other writing/publishing/self-promotional experts.
To kick off I’ve uploaded a video blog explaining the rationale for the site, as well as the first set of author tips, which this week come from Catherine Mason of A Computer In the Art Room fame. Already we are picking up steam, with some exciting contributors lined up and, meanwhile, we’ve had our first mention over at a-n.
I’d be extremely grateful for more ideas for articles and contributors and if there is a question you’d like the site to deal with, let me know that too! And don’t forget you can catch us on twitter!
