My latest Digital arts news column is out in a-n magazine. It starts like this:

“Igloo, the collective comprising artists Ruth Gibson and Bruno Martelli, present Visitor, a new installation at the Apthorp Gallery, artsdepot, London. Based on their time in the wilds of Canada, they offer up a life-sized copy of a hunting cabin – complete with internal virtual environment – alongside a video piece called Where the bears are sleeping. As the artists explained to me, “By employing techniques used in videogames this work plays with our anticipation of different forms of reality revealing a presence in both worlds suggesting the hunter being hunted, the tracker being tracked.” The exhibition tours to the Djanogly Art Gallery, Nottingham, from 12 March, where the artists will give a talk on 16 March (6-7pm).
